The Industrial Hive

Industry and Circular Economy

by La Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale

The Industrial Hive is pleased to host the first “Industrial Revival” event in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, organized by the Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale and its partners! On the agenda for this morning: roundtables but also feedback and testimonials from manufacturers and private or public actors in connection with the themes of the day.

The Industrial Revival cycle participates in the reflection on the major challenges that will mark industry in the 21st century. It brings together all the players involved in the industrial renaissance in the territories. This large-scale event, under the patronage of Agnès Pannier-Runacher – Minister to the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Economic Recovery in charge of Industry – aims to highlight local industrial dynamics.

“Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed” said Lavoisier: this is the spirit of this meeting where we engage the debate around the Industry and the circular economy!

🌍 | What is the circular economy?
According to the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the circular economy “consists of producing goods and services in a sustainable way by limiting the consumption and waste of resources and the production of waste. It is about moving from a throwaway society to a more circular economic model. ”

From linear to circular, the new model of the industry of the future
After 10 years of 4.0 transformation of factory cores, new models are emerging, based on circularity and decarbonization of value chains. These models are initiating a re-engagement of teams, more multi-local value chains and innovative business models, and must be at the heart of a sustainable industrial renaissance.

◼ | Round table n°2 | Animated by Anaïs Voy-Gillis, Industry Delegate Société d’Encouragement
Industry & pollution, how to develop more environmentally friendly models?
In the collective imagination, “industry” is often synonymous with pollution, land artificialisation and industrial disasters. The industrial renaissance is therefore linked to the ability to change the representations of industry, but also to the ability to provide concrete answers to real problems and to consider new production schemes that are more virtuous and have less environmental impact. Often limited to the subject of carbon neutrality, the environmental issue is broader and touches on many subjects.
